Three Years on a Stone

There is a Japanese proverb: “Ishi no ue ni mo san nen” — Even on a cold stone, if you sit there for three years, it will become warm.

 

The meaning is simple: patience and persistence can change difficult situations.

 

In business, many people expect quick results. They start something new, and if it does not work right away, they give up. But real success often takes time. A new product, a new service, or a new relationship with customers does not grow overnight.

 

This proverb teaches us that endurance matters. Even when things are uncomfortable, boring, or difficult, staying with the task long enough can create results.
