Bungie Software ...
2026-06-23

Did you know? Before PSPINC became known for web hosting, internet services, and software development, we were also a software localization and publishing company.
One of the projects we are particularly proud of was bringing Bungie Software's legendary Marathon series to Japan. PSPINC localized and published the Japanese versions of Marathon (1994), Marathon 2: Durandal (1995), and Marathon Infinity (1996).
In the mid-1990s, software localization involved much more than simply translating text. Menus, user interfaces, manuals, packaging, and marketing materials all had to be carefully adapted for the Japanese market. It was a challenging but rewarding process that helped introduce Japanese gamers to one of the most innovative first-person shooter series of its time.
Many people know Bungie today as the creator of Halo and Destiny, but before those franchises, there was Marathon. We are honored that PSPINC played a small part in the history of bringing that groundbreaking trilogy to Japanese Macintosh users.
Looking back, it is amazing to see how far both Bungie and PSPINC have come since those early days.
