The Second Half of 2026 Has Begun
Time flies—we’ve officially entered the second half of 2026.
This is the perfect time to look back at the goals we set at the beginning of the year and plan what we want to achieve over the next six months. As you do, I encourage you to take a fresh look at one of your company's most important business assets: your website.
Lately, social media, video streaming platforms, and artificial intelligence have dominated the business conversation. As a result, companies often focus heavily on follower counts, views, and engagement metrics. However, no matter how much the internet evolves, a company’s most vital online asset remains its own website.
Social media platforms are incredibly convenient tools for spreading information, but they are ultimately digital spaces owned and controlled by third parties. Algorithms change, content reach can drop overnight, and platforms themselves evolve or sometimes disappear entirely. In contrast, your website is a permanent digital asset that you completely own and control.
When customers become interested in your company, product, or service, they almost always look at your website before making a final decision. They use the information there to judge whether your business is credible. If a website looks outdated or hasn't been updated in months, you risk losing valuable business opportunities right then and there.
Furthermore, AI-driven search and content summarization have become standard practice. When AI tools look up information about your business or services, they often rely on publicly available website content. If your website does not contain accurate and up-to-date information, AI may not understand or represent your business correctly. Moving forward, humans and AI must easily understand your websites.
Your website isn’t just a digital brochure. It’s a sales representative working 24/7, the face of your brand, and the ultimate hub for all your information. Social media, email newsletters, and AI tools should all drive people back to this central hub.
As we kick off the second half of 2026, take a moment to review and refine your company website. The results you see six months from now will depend on the small improvements you start making today.
The tools we use to navigate the internet will change with the times. However, the fundamental rule of business remains the same: owning, managing, and accurately sharing your own information is a timeless strategy.
