Mt. St. Helens — A Reminder of the Power of Nature

On the way back from California, I was able to see and take a picture of Mt. St. Helens from the airplane. This mountain is famous for the massive eruption in 1980 that literally blew off the top and the north side of the mountain. Even today, you can still clearly see the unique shape left behind by that eruption.

On the way back from California, I was able to see and take a picture of Mt. St. Helens from the airplane. This mountain is famous for the massive eruption in 1980 that literally blew off the top and the north side of the mountain. Even today, you can still clearly see the unique shape left behind by that eruption.
The eruption covered Seattle in volcanic ash and stopped airplanes from flying for a while. At the time, I was studying at a college in California, and I still remember how huge the news was. It reminded everyone how powerful nature can be.
The power of nature is far stronger than anything humans can control. Even after 46 years, there are still scars visible in the surrounding area left by the eruption.
