Why Information Security Is Personal to Me
Recently, I received yet another letter informing me that my personal information may have been exposed due to a third-party vulnerability. It seems like these letters are becoming common. Every time I read one, I ask myself the same question:
How did we allow this to become normal?
As a business owner for nearly four decades, I have always believed that trust is the most valuable asset a company can have. Once broken, it is extremely difficult to rebuild. That is why, at PSPINC, information security has never been just a technical requirement. It is personal.
When we started PSPINC, there was no infrastructure we could rely on. We built everything ourselves. That mindset never left us. Even today, we operate our own data center environment. We design, develop, deploy, and monitor our systems internally. We do not outsource development. We do not hand responsibility to unknown third parties.
Because when something goes wrong, “it wasn’t us” is not an acceptable answer.
Security is not just about firewalls and software patches. It is about control, accountability, and culture. Who has access? Who monitors the logs? Who responds at 2 a.m. if something unusual happens? At PSPINC, the answer is simple: we do.
We provide layered spam filtering, daily backups, secure authentication systems, and continuous monitoring. But beyond technology, what we truly provide is responsibility. If you host with PSPINC, your data is not sitting in some unknown cloud environment managed by layers of subcontractors. It is in an environment we manage and understand.
I have always said that running a business is about long-term relationships. Many of our customers have been with us for decades. That does not happen by accident. It happens because we take their trust seriously.
Information security is not a marketing phrase at PSPINC.
It is a commitment.
It is a commitment.
