January 26, 2026 — Monday, the day I traveled to Japan

I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to catch up on emails and post on social media, including this blog. It has been one year since my kidney transplant surgery, and during that year, I was not allowed to travel overseas.

My kidney is doing well. I still have a few other health issues, but they didn’t stop me from traveling this time. My flight departs at 12:30 p.m. from Seattle to Tokyo, and I sincerely hope everything goes smoothly.

I’ve finished packing and am looking forward to seeing old friends and business partners in Japan. I’ll share what I see and feel there, especially since I’ll be in the middle of an election period. It should be an interesting time to observe Japan from the ground.
