The Danger of Being “Right”

 

The world looks different depending on where you stand. A business owner, a worker, an investor, and a politician all see different realities. None of these views are automatically wrong — they are shaped by experience, responsibility, and survival. Problems begin when someone believes their view is not just valid, but the only one that matters.

 

In business, this mindset kills companies. Leaders who believe they are always right stop listening to customers and employees. Markets change, but they don’t. Warning signs are ignored until it is too late. Most companies don’t fail from lack of information — they fail from lack of humility.

 

In economics, the same mistake creates bad policy. One group fears inflation, another fears unemployment. Both are real. But when one side declares the other “wrong” instead of incomplete, policy becomes rigid and breaks when reality shifts.

 

In politics, the danger is even greater. When people believe they are morally superior, they stop listening and start attacking. Disagreement turns into division.

 

Disagreement is not the problem. Arrogance is.
The belief that being right gives you the right to silence others is what truly destroys businesses, economies, and nations.
