Today is December 15, 2025. With just a little over two weeks left in the year, the calendar is clearly reminding me that we are entering the final stretch of 2025.

 

It was a rainy Monday morning. After breakfast that my daughter kindly prepared for me, I decided to get some light exercise before heading into the office. Since the weather wasn’t ideal for an outdoor walk, I drove to Bellevue Square and walked inside the parking structure instead. The mall itself was still closed, but the doors were open, as they often are early in the morning. There’s something quiet and peaceful about walking there before the stores open—just a few people, the echo of footsteps, and time to think.

 

I ended up walking about 4,000 steps before heading into the office. It felt good to move a bit, especially after a very relaxed weekend. I didn’t do much over the past two days—no big plans, no rushing around. Just resting, which I probably needed more than I realized.

 

This week looks fairly simple but important. I have a civil doctor’s appointment coming up, something that’s been on the schedule for a while. Then on Friday, I’ll be driving up to Vancouver, British Columbia, to pick up my wife and bring her back. It’s a short trip, but one I’m looking forward to.

 

As the year winds down, days like this feel appropriate—quiet, steady, and uncomplicated. No big events, just taking care of health, family, and routine. Sometimes, that’s exactly what’s needed before closing out another year.
