I just renewed my tab for my car, which is a hybrid. Did you know Washington state charges $75 for driving a fuel-efficient car? I know they charge $150 for driving an electric car. Their excuse is that electric cars do not pay gas tax. But what about hybrids? We pay gas—we're just more efficient. This state seems completely backwards. They talk about environmental concern, but they charge you for being more environmentally friendly. It feels like they just want money. It's not a huge amount, but it's frustrating and short-sighted.
