Starting tomorrow, businesses in Washington State will be required to collect sales tax on a range of services that, until now, were not subject to sales tax.

 

This change means that many companies offering services—such as consulting, digital products, IT support, design, and other professional services—must now add state and local sales tax to their invoices. Customers who were used to paying only the service fee will see additional charges starting with new transactions.
