This morning, I decided to put together a simple breakfast sandwich. I started with a slice of toasted wheat bread, spread on a little mayonnaise, and added a layer of finely sliced cabbage. On top of that, I placed about half an apple—sliced thinly for just a touch of sweetness—and finished it off with a sunny-side-up egg.
Usually, I don’t add apple to my breakfast sandwiches, but I felt like experimenting today. The combination turned out okay—an interesting mix of crisp, fresh, and savory flavors.
Even so, I have to admit: I’m still a little hungry. Maybe it’s one of those Sundays where breakfast needs to be followed by a second breakfast.
